Through the support of a Children in Nature grant, three outdoor classrooms in our district (Brown Elementary, Postlethwait Middle, and CRHS) are being developed and/or "brought back to life." These outdoor areas will be the site for Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MEWEE) linked to Next Generation Science Standards, as well as provide a variety of new opportunities for collaboration across content areas using the outdoors as the canvas for learning. Our students are given many opportunities to explore their world, plugged and unplugged! CRHS students in Mrs. Stokes' and Mrs. Marasco's classes worked with their teachers, DNREC volunteers, Mrs. Faircloth, and Mrs. Szabo from the district office to plant native plants in their outdoor classroom.
