At the Music in the Parks held at Hershey Park, Postlethwait Middle swept the awards for each of its ensembles. Not only did they get 1st place for the concert band, men's choir, women's choir, and mixed choir, they were rated superior for all of these ensemble performances. That is the highest rating possible! They also got the overall award for the men's choir and the overall concert band award. A great day had by all!
May's Board meeting included a tour of the Outdoor Classroom at Postlethwait by members of the staff and building administration. Congratulations to Postlethwait Middle School for being selected as a 2017 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School. This award acknowledges the school’s commitment to sustainable practices. They were commended for their leadership in facilities, health, and environmental education. They will be nationally recognized in Washington, DC on July 19th. On May 2nd, DDOE held the Professional Learning Exhibition in Dover. The event showcased Delaware's 21 Reimagining Professional Learning Innovative Grant winners for the 2016-2017 school year. Five schools from Caesar Rodney displayed professional learning artifacts, one facilitated a 5-minute Ignite presentation, and all left with awards for their work throughout the year! We are excited to hear the results of this year’s grant applications!
